A Twickenham based theatre director has launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring a new children’s musical, with an important message about climate change, to Hampton Hill Theatre. Stephen Leslie was inspired to create this production after hearing about Ellie and Starlight a story by a local writer that explains climate change in a heart-warming way to young children.

“I’ve always enjoyed directing well known titles but this has given me the chance to create a new show from scratch, and collaborate with a local creative team on a topic I am passionate about. It is so important that children know from an early age, what is happening in the wider world, how their actions impact it, and what they can do to give everyone a better future.”

Stephen is crowdfunding with SWLEN – Colin Cooper SWLEN’s CEO is pleased to be involved with helping to get Ellie’s message across.

“We support organisations that work to improve our local environment, and educating families on climate change will result in actions that will also help locally such as reducing the amount of plastic waste, and improving air quality.”

Stephen needs to raise a further £4k for the musical to go ahead, and residents who pledge their support will be eligible for free tickets if the show reaches its fundraising target. Please support this project today
