Meet at the small building next to the Shot Tower in Crane Park in Whitton
There is no need to book and you don’t have to commit for a whole day — even if you can only spare an hour or two you will always be welcome. Afternoon sessions start around 1.30pm. with activities including general habitat maintenance and improvement, and keeping paths, etc. clear and safe for visitors, and other tasks to age and ability as needed.
The workdays are not suitable for very young children but older children might enjoy them. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Wear old clothes (be prepared to get muddy on occasions) and strong footwear (it is a good idea to bring wellies if you have them, although we have a selection), bring water, especially in summer, and bring lunch if you are thinking of staying all day, as it is quite a walk to the nearest shop. We provide tea or coffee at lunchtime. All tools and equipment are provided.
