Crowdfunding is a popular way to get involved and help raise money for projects and causes. SWLEN uses a charity donation-based crowdfunding model whereby people/groups apply to us to have a ‘project page’ for their local environmental project for a defined period of time. If the project meets our criteria we set up a ‘page’ on our website which anyone can view; it displays information about the project and allows people to donate. Our charity and the originator of the project promote the ‘project page’ to solicit donations.

We will claim Gift Aid on your behalf – further boosting your fundraising, plus we will accept and process cheque payments on your behalf.

If you make a pledge with SWLEN Crowdfund, then the money will be taken from your card or PayPal account right after. Some campaigns will only take the funds from your account if they reach the total fundraising goal, whereas others may accept all donations. This will be specified on the campaign page.
When people and groups apply to have a SWLEN Crowdfund project with us, we work with them to ensure they have a viable project and budget as well as have the necessary permissions in place.
