Join Friends of Barnes Common on their work parties every second Sunday of the month from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Each monthly conservation work day focuses on the what is needed for that time of year at different locations across the common, so please click here to see the meeting point specifications.
Tools will be supplied as well as gloves, but wear warm old clothes which you do not mind getting dirty/snagged, as well as stout footwear.
The management plan for the Common is aimed at maintaining and enhancing the rich biodiversity found in this 100 acre site, dissected as it is by numerous roads, paths and the railway. It is part of an important Green corridor between the Thames and Richmond Park and is home to one of the largest areas of acid grassland in London outside of the deer-grazed Royal Parks.
Please contact the friends if you wish to join by emailing Mike Hildesley.
